I would also like to meet the blog writers who have questions, would you be so kind as to reveal your identity as you know mine, and a way to contact you other than this blog.
A cup of water at a local spot would be fine with me, I will be happy to visit with you on some of the issues that are raised in the comments below if it would put your mind at ease. Otherwise, you will have to rely on hearsay, if you do not believe that which I've already stated.

Signatures
Thank you to all the folks in District 4 that enabled me to have the required number of signatures as of last Thursday, to be on the October 2, 2007 ballot for City Councilor.
It was a pleasure to meet you all and I look forward to representing you in the very near future.

Elect a Councilor who WANTS the Job
While my opponent has been trying to distract the voters with a silly email sent by someone who wanted to be a part of this campaign, and was trying to enlist more aid, (Do the voters really care about who works on a campaign?) the real issues are on the front page of our widely read newspaper. One blogger asked where is the news, well, they are doing their job, reporting the facts, here they are.
Readers of yesterday morning’s ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL found out that our incumbent Councilor doesn’t want to represent us on the City Council; what he REALLY wants is to be the highest-paid Superintendent of Schools in New Mexico. No wonder. Why worry about parks and potholes representing your neighbors on City Council, when there’s a $193,000 paycheck waiting for him in the Superintendent of Schools’ office?
Trouble is, we’ve got some serious problems here in the City of Albuquerque: the schools are crumbling (largely because of my opponent’s negligence as an administrator for APS); people are afraid in their homes; there are too few places for our kids to play; and our neighbors are having a difficult time making ends meet because they tell me their taxes are too high.
In times like these, we need – we deserve – a Councilor who is seriously committed to doing the job – not a job-seeker. In just this Term, our incumbent has sought to run for Mayor, and now he’s looking to become Schools Superintendent. At the same time, he says he wants our support for City Council.
With all due respect, sir: make up your mind. Meanwhile, I hope the voters are making up theirs.

Not a bad apple, but a green one I'll admit!!
All of us make mistakes, ordinary citizens, professional politicians, and bureaucrats alike, the difference between ordinary citizens like me and the professional politicians and the bureaucrats like my opponent is that I admit my mistakes and set them straight.

In the interest of giving the voters all the facts, here is the complete exchange with Joe Monahan: His question and my answer.

SECTION 8 (D) (1) - (6)"
As I was specifically directed by an Attorney for the City of Albuquerque, and as allowed in the Regulations above, I bought 2 computers and 2 printers for my campaign.
While completely legal, on reflection, I do not like the message this transaction could send, so the Campaign began the process of voiding the sale of these items on Saturday,
so that the Campaign can LEASE this equipment instead.
Thanks for the inquiry, but now can we talk about the issues that really matter to people, like how APS has allowed our schools to crumble?

In addition, I have decided, in the interest of allowing us all to focus on the REAL issues, that no individual who is related to me will receive any reimbursement for services rendered on behalf of this campaign, and I will account in detail for every penny of public funds spent to get our message out. I support Public Financing of Campaigns and oppose the kind of "gottcha" politics being engaged in by my opponent and the special interests who fund him.

Signature Phase of Nominating Petitions
Well, all of the City Council races are in the Nominating Petition Phase of the election.
In District 4, I need to turn in 2% of the registered voters signatures.
That equates to approximately 700 signatures, these must be accurate.
If there is no middle initial on your voter registration card, then your signature will not count if you put your initial on the nominating petition signature page.
Likewise, if you have a middle initial on your voter registration card, and you do not put it on the nominating petition signature page, then it will not be valid either.
Please be aware of that while you are signing, we want all of your signatures to count.
I'm happy that so many of you are supporting this effort to place my name on the ballot.
It's been in the high 90's and even 100 degrees while we are out gathering these signatures and I want to thank all of those, who have been so kind to invite us inside, offer us food, and give us water to stay hydrated.
The residents of District 4 are generous, kind, compassionate, and caring people, and I look to serve you well in the near future.
We are very close to our goal right now, and it's because of your continued desire to support me as I fill the requirements of being on the ballot.

Death of a Hero all around us
We all are touched by the loss of someone we know, or someone that we know - who knows someone that lost a loved one in this War.
This week we will say goodbye to another soldier, James Akin, from Albuquerque.
The photo below is of my boys, myself, the driver (also older brother of one rider) and the 3 young men, Richard, Sean and James, that are riding bicycles across America to raise funds for the education of the children, of Special Op's, soldiers killed in Iraq.
I had the pleasure of meeting with these fine young men, twice this week in our City and they are indeed wonderful.
Strong and brave not unlike those that are at installations throughout the world. They are making a difference as they take this trip, they touch people along the way, and in the long run, will have created the ability for the children of those that served and died for us, to go to college. I am thankful for their initiative and I hope that those who read this blog, will take the time to go to theirs as well.
